Although I used to be a nurse this site is not in any way a substitute for seeking professional help from your own Doctor/ Health care provider and I would urge you to visit them for an accurate diagnosis. If you have any information you would like to add to the site I would really welcome your input please click here to contact me.
Back pain, back conditions, back discomfort can all be caused by a variety of differing reasons from something as simple as a sneeze to a serious fall. It will be due to injury, genetic – (something you have been born with), disease or the ageing process.
When you seek treatment for your back pain you need to remember you are in partnership with which ever professional is helping you, and it is down to you to do the majority of the work. The cold hard truth is that there is no miracle cure and no magic wand solution despite what some websites may claim. Your own resolve is what will ultimately improve your life style, and you may have to try many different treatments or combinations to find the right one for you.
Back problems can from take weeks to months to see any real improvement and others unfortunately are with you for life. However, on a lighter note some minor sprains and injuries can make rapid improvement within a few days to a couple of weeks if treated correctly.
People often talk about having a chronic back condition or an acute attack, and that can be worrying if you don’t understand what that means
Chronic means – a long term or repetitive problem
Acute means - a condition which has come on rapidly
